Seriously, why all the concern over Black Lives Matter where we live? It would seem to be as big an issue as jumping on the La Raza bandwagon to support our oppressed hispanic community. How is it, that in a populace that is 95% caucasian, do we have zero people other than caucasians complaining of bigotry and protesting for reforms?
Is it possible that our caucasian community feels the oppression of local law enforcement? After all, 99.9% of all traffic stops, arrests, prosecutions and incarcerations are of caucasians. When was the last time a non-caucasian was prosecuted, let alone convicted of a capital crime and sentenced to death in Bonner County? Where are all the calls for this obvious law enforcement bias, profiling, and abuse of power to stop.
Is it possible that all of the protestors are LPOSD graduates, maybe even LPO alternative high school graduates? Maybe after watching “The Jerk” they too discovered, like Steve Martin’s character, that they were all poor black children? It is truly hard to imagine any other reason for so many caucasians to be protesting the obvious discrimination and abuse inflicted daily within our community, with the wrong color on their signs.
If a group of protestors stand on the side of the road with White Lives Matter signage, how would they be perceived? How about Brown Lives Matter? Yellow Lives Matter? Red Lives Matter? Green Lives Matter (for any self-identifying Martians in the community)? Isn’t singling out one color (race) racism in and of itself? And if your reaction to any of the above was a snicker, disdain or disgust, then aren’t you in fact racially biased and bigoted?
Maybe it should be explained to these protestors that they are actually human beings, not black children, and that to be truly inclusive, and not divisive, that All Lives Matter.
