As up to tens of people made uncoordinated protests on the US95 Long Bridge last week, area citizens became interested as to what they were holding signs about. One local hipster apparently knew that the BLM signage was not referring to a federal land management department, and went to the door to alert Sandpoint’s sole person of color. This sparked the man’s interest, and he decided to investigate further.
At the next protest gathering, a woke white woman named Karen was heard to explain to the man, who was out for a stroll with his dog, that her sign was for him, and that BLM meant that his Black Life Mattered and not Bureau of Land Management. The confused man told Karen that he already knew that his life was important to him, and then asked her about all the other people in Bonner County, if they mattered too?
Karen responded by kneeling and apologizing for her white privilege, and promising to give the man the proceeds from the sale of her 1975 honda Civic as compensation, whenever she can afford to get it out of impound and get it running again. The man offered to stand beside her with a White Lives Matter sign, and headed back to his 2020 Mercedes 550 to go to the store for some signage materials. That particular protest feel apart when Karen retired to medicate, and the man’s dog needed a nap.
